Reflux Treatment Without Medication

These days, we’re all bombarded with advertisements for over-the-counter medications and prescription formulas that are designed to alleviate the symptoms of acid reflux (which causes the pain of heartburn). Sometimes, the side effects and expense of using these types of acid reflux medications may inspire GERD sufferers and other people with stomach acid health issues to look for treatment solutions that aren’t created in a high-tech pharmaceutical laboratory.

If you prefer to seek out gentle, holistic and natural reflux treatment, you’ll find that there are wealth of practical tips and suggestions to try. In order to keep you informed about the best natural treatments for acid reflux, we’ve compiled a helpful quick guide that you may use to experiment with alternative, no-medication-required lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and supplement-based therapies.

Natural Reflux Treatment Requires a Careful, Healthy Lifestyle

The healthier you are, the easier it will be to reduce or eliminate your acid reflux symptoms. In fact, if your acid reflux symptoms aren’t too severe, changing the way that you live may be enough to alleviate the discomfort of heartburn without the need for medication or surgery.

Certain people, such as smokers or men and women who are overweight, will be more prone to GERD and other acid reflux-based health complications, so quitting smoking and achieving your ideal weight may be the keys to beating your illness in a natural way.

After all, cigarettes are loaded with toxins that always irritate the stomach and esophagus, and carrying a bit (or a lot) of excess poundage will usually place a great deal of strain on your internal organs and body systems. Therefore, becoming your slimmest self and avoiding cigarettes as a natural reflux treatment is very important.

While reducing or quitting smoking will be very tough for some people to do, millions of men and women have managed to stop lighting up and/or lose weight, and that means that you can do it, too. By adopting a gentle exercise routine or experimenting with smoking cessation aids (or both), you will learn how to get the most out of your body, and you may experience a pronounced reduction in your reflux treatment symptoms.

The Right Dietary Adjustments Are a Useful Reflux Treatment Option

Combining the right lifestyle changes with the proper dietary adjustments is a proven way to ameliorate an acid reflux health condition. Usually, giving up coffee, fatty food and peppery spices will provide near-immediate relief from painful heartburn. In addition, avoiding cocktails, beer, wine and spirits will be a wise decision.

All of these “trigger” foods and drinks exacerbate acid reflux, so eschewing them will be an ideal way to access natural reflux treatment that actually gets great results. If you’re struggling to give up your morning cup of coffee or nightly cocktail, try to find substitutes, such as mild herbal teas and “mocktails” that will provide you with flavor and hydration (without causing attacks of acid reflux).

Acid Reflux Treatment with Supplements May Work for You

Some acid reflux sufferers have used apple cider vinegar reflux treatment to reduce their symptoms and side effects. If you’re looking for a natural supplement that is available right in the aisle of your local grocery store, you may want to give apple cider vinegar a try.

This apple-based, fermented liquid works to alleviate heartburn by alkalizing the system and neutralizing stomach acid. Often, apple cider vinegar is combined with baking soda to give even better results. Baking soda has long been lauded for its ability to soothe heartburn, and it’s so inexpensive.

A good “home remedy” recipe that may be used for acid reflux treatment is drinking half a teaspoon of baking soda that has been mixed into two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a glass of water. Add the first two ingredients, stir to initiate the chemical reaction, and then pour into the water.

Apple cider vinegar supplements, which are sold in capsule or tablet form, may also be very useful. You may find these natural supplements at health food stores or better grocery stores that cater to health-conscious consumers (such as Whole Foods).

Now that you know more about how to tackle acid reflux without prescriptions or over-the-counter medications, you’ll be ready to embark on an acid reflux treatment that is both budget-friendly and gentle to your system. However, if the reflux treatment suggestions here don’t work for you, you may want to consider discussing medications or surgical reflux treatment options with your general physician.

Have u been checked for cnhroe’s (sp?) disease and if you have they may have put the tube inside your intestine’s where you don’t have the inflammation. Not to be gross, but if they come in from behind, they can only go so far and if they go thru your mouththey run into the same problem. Doctors can be arrogant, but my cousin and one of my friends have cnhroe’s. I have no idea where you live, but my cousin who is very young- he was diagnosed at the age of 11- has had wonderful care at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. There is also the Mayo clinic- they have a couple locations. Here are two websites for you to check out and enter in your symptoms- they might be able to help guide you to the right doctor or hispital, The Doctor site is really anazubg and Kinda fun and really fascinating. Good luch and u r in my prayers, I have deakt with pain all over my body for over 2 years and I know how it can destroy things. Keep me posted thru email , if u like. It can be hard, depressing and scarry facing tons of tests and NEVER let a doctor convince you that your pain is in your head. That happens to a lot of women- docs think they are hysterical and if they can’t figure it out0 they end up blaming you. Don’t fall for it- Keep looking for answers and aagain- I have researched a lot of things medically- so feel free to bug me. Hope All goes well and it’s just some bacteria they haven’t found E

Taking one tablespoon of a nartaul apple cider vinegar can be very helpful for any heartburn and acid problems that you are having. Braggs is an especially good product, as it actually contains the nartaul base that is called the mother . Braggs products can be found in most supermarkets in the nartaul foods section. It can also be ordered off the Internet through Amazon, if you cannot find it where you reside. It takes some getting used to the taste, and you can stir it into a glass of water if you cannot get used to taking it straight, but you will quickly see a big difference in the amount of acid reflux and heartburn you will be getting. If it is still too bitter for your taste, you can add a bit of honey to the mix,It sounds a bit counter-intuitive, adding an acid to your diet, but this is a helpful acid. Many of the over the counter tablets or liquids actually shut down the nartaul acid production in your stomach, which causes your body to be less able to correctly digest the food you are consuming; which can be more upsetting to your body than the heartburn and reflux.I initially learned about it from an older neighbor who was quite well versed in many nartaul health care products and lived a long and healthy life. It has been quite helpful for my husband and myself and for a few other family members and friends as well.Good luck, I hope you give this a try and hopefully, it will work for you also.Have a good day.
